Can you introduce yourself to us?
My name is Taiwo Oluwafunmilayo Olayinka a.k.a Yinka Taiwo, a final year student of mass communication in Oduduwa University, Ife. I’m a poet, a writer, an upcoming blogger and a freelancer.
How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing for closely 7 years.
How long have you been freelancing?
I’ve been freelancing for about 2 years now.
In the course of your freelancing, what are some of the challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?
I’ve faced challenges mostly in terms of constructing and proofreading but I overcame them by becoming better, reading more, and researching more on writing articles.
What are your favorite tools for working?
My computer and my smartphone
Tell us what your typical day looks like as a writer.
I wake up with different ideas of articles in my head, I put some down while I immediately post some on my social media. I also write about 2 to 3 articles for blogs and as a member of the press club in my institution, I provide reports to them.
How do you motivate yourself to write?
Reading, listening and observing things going around…mostly curiosity.
What advice would you give to a budding freelancer or a writer?
Always be willing to learn more, write frequently for the skills not to diminish and accept corrections.
