  1. How long have you been a photographer?

I started photography professionally in the year 2015. So roughly two years.

  1. How long have you been freelancing?

Close to a year.

  1. Can you tell us about your blog https://esanharris.wordpress.com/?

Actually, I have two blogs, esanharris.wordpress.com is a fun space where I tell stories around the creation of any image I have taken as a photographer. I also use my images to inspire other photographers that they can create breathtaking images without necessarily using state of the art equipment and expensive gears. The other blog (esanharris.blogspot.com) is also a fun space where I share inspirational stories, I write and share my views about life here.

  1. In the course of your freelancing, what are some of the challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

Breaking out from the norms of my business is one the major challenges I faced and I am still facing. There are a million photographers and most of us operate with same principles and standards. Getting to be different is a challenge for me, but I try my best to improve on myself using the web, and understudying the few unique photographers around, this has helped me so much in perfecting my own style.

  1. Tell us how your typical day looks like as a photographer.

I start my day with prayers, I go to my office, finish up edits from the night before, I reply emails,  then I go out to do outdoor shoots or do studio shoots.  I come back and backup images, while doing that I read a chapter or two from a book and that inspires me to write after, I edit my images and reply messages till I sleep.

  1. What motivates you to work?

Passion mostly and the awareness that bills have to be paid.

  1. What advice would you give to a budding freelancer or photographer?

START!!! START!!! START!!! Don’t wait till you have $5000 worth of equipment. In addition, if you ask the right questions you would find yourself in the fast lane of success. Then have fun. Enjoy life
