And so, here are some of the other relevant tools for freelancers:
- Slack: Slack helps with your team communication. As a remote worker, you may not regularly meet with your teammates, and with a tool like Slack, you can communicate effectively online. You can organize your team conversations in channels, you can send messages, make calls, share files, etc. via Slack.
- Skype: as a remote worker, you know that you still need to talk to your client. Skype is a useful tool that you can use in doing video calls, as well as voice calls to your clients locally and internationally. Skype is available for download on different types of devices. One of the features we love in Skype is the ‘Screen sharing’ feature. This feature is very useful for conversations between a freelancer and a client for instance.
- App Block: sometimes when working online or working on your devices, it might be easy to get carried away by interesting things online. For instance, a social media manager needs to work online, and most times he/she work on his/her phone. App block can help you block some apps for a specific period of time you wish, and then you can open them again when you choose to. App block is available for download on Android devices.
- Google Keep: why we love Google keep is because it makes it easy to keep’ notes, links, etc on our devices. In addition, we can also access these notes on our other devices. For instance, if you have an idea for an article or a website design, you can note it in Google Keep on your phone, and access it on your PC. You can create lists, save your notes and also access it on your other devices.
- Dropbox: most times clients share documents with freelancers to give specific details about a job. For instance, a client can share a document with you via Dropbox, detailing the things you need to consider when writing an article. In addition, with Dropbox, you can sync your documents, and access your files on devices you choose.
- Calendly: sometimes we have meetings with clients and Calendly can help you as a freelancer to schedule meetings with someone. You even share your schedule with another person, such as a client.
- Paypal: as a freelancer, part of your clientele may include international clients. And so, you might need to receive money for services done for them, this is where Paypal comes in. With Paypal, you can receive money online, as well as purchase things you need to purchase online. You can also utilize Paypal to pay for tools you use online.
